2025 Player Outlook
Over the last two season we have seen the ceiling and the floor of Matt Olson. If your floor is 29 homers with almost 100 RBIs and 162 games played you should feel pretty safe about Matt Olson. We may not see another 2023 season out of him, but I think he could be somewhere in between the last two seasons which would still make him one of the best power hitters in all of baseball with a ridiculous amount of runs and RBIs on a great Braves team.
Player News
Matt Olson went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Sunday afternoon as the Braves fell to the Giants in San Francisco.
Olson got the Braves on the board first in this one as he plated Ronald Acuna Jr. on a fielder’s choice in the top half of the first inning. He then smacked a go-ahead two-run double off of Landen Roupp in the third that gave the Giants a 3-1 advantage, that would be the extent of their offense in the game though. The 31-year-old slugger is now hitting .236/.342/.460 with 13 long balls and 37 RBI through his first 64 games on the season.
Matt Olson hit a two-run homer in an extra-inning loss to the Giants on Friday.
Matt Olson went 1-for-5 with a solo homer against the Padres on Saturday.
Olson took Sean Reynolds deep for a solo homer in the third inning for his only hit of the game. It was Olson’s five home run in the last eight days. The 31-year-old slugger is up to 12 on the season while hitting .243/.347/.481 with 30 runs scored and 29 RBI across 222 plate appearances.
Matt Olson went 3-for-5 and homered in a second straight game Saturday against the Red Sox.
Olson is 5-for-9 the last two days, raising his average to .232. He’s up to nine homers for the year, but Statcast still thinks he should have more; he entered the night with an xSLG of .508, compared to an actual mark of .405.
