2025 Player Outlook
Woodruff looked phenomenal to begin the 2023 season, but a shoulder injury ended his season early. He underwent surgery months later, and that knocked him out for all of 2024. Woodruff has stated he’s unsure if he’ll be ready for Opening Day, but he will return to the mound in 2025. There’s going to be some rust, as well as some questions about his shoulder, but when healthy, Woodruff is as good as they come on the mound, and produces across the board for fantasy managers. There are a lot of questions, and his return date is still to be determined, but pitchers of his caliber typically aren’t available at his current price in drafts. Moderately-high risk, sky-high reward.

X-rays came back negative on Brandon Woodruff’s right elbow.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters initial X-rays didn’t reveal any fractures, but Woodruff will undergo further testing out of an abundance of caution. The 32-year-old righty was hit by a comebacker during his final rehab start for Triple-A Nashville. There should be some additional clarity on his status in the coming days.

There should be a definitive update on his status at some point later this week.
