2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: McMahon hit .240 with 23 home runs last season, marking the fourth time in the last five years where he hit at least .240 with 20 home runs in a season! The only year he didn't do it in that time period was the shortened 2020 season. However, his strikeout rate jumped to 31.6 percent, largely due to a 14.2 percent swinging striek rate, a 70 percent contact rate, and his 76.2 Z-Contact rate was the third lowest amongst players with at least 400 plate appearances last season. McMahon took advantage of the hitter friendly confines of Coors Field, but away from Coors last year, he slashed just .219/.310/.380. He posted a .375 SLG over his final 62 games of the season, bringing down his numbers a bit.

2024 Outlook: Improved plate discipline in 2024 would help McMahon, but his games at Coors Field will help play up his numbers a bit, and honestly, there's no reason to believe he won't put forth another .240+ average, 20+ home runs, and five or more stolen bases. He's been very consistent in regard to that, and fantasy managers will love his multi-positional eligibility. He may not be the flashiest pick, but specifically at second base, his ADP is very favorable for the upcoming season.
