2025 Player Outlook
Kiner-Falefa provides fantasy managers with a ton of versatility when setting lineups, as he has eligibility at numerous positions including second base, third base, and shortstop. However, he’s somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades for fantasy purposes, but one could argue he’s not really impactful in any category. His biggest contribution in a category likely comes in terms of stolen bases this year, as he’ll get enough ABs to get into the mid-to-upper teens, and should hit ahead of Bryan Reynolds, Oneil Cruz, etc. I don’t know if he’ll occupy the leadoff spot all year long, as his OBP isn’t what you want at the top of the order. He’s a better player in reality than in fantasy, but if you need the ABs and some cheap speed in NL-only formats, Kiner-Falefa may be able to help you out there.

Isiah KIner-Falefa had two of the Pirates’ four hits and stole a base Tuesday against the Astros.
Although he’s homered just once, Kiner-Falefa has probably been the Pirates’ best position player this year after factoring in defense. He’s hitting .310/.356/.393, and he’s been perfectly solid at short after mostly playing the outfield in 2013 and second base and third base for the Jays last year. With that versatility sure to be valued, he’ll net the Pirates a nice prospect next month.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored Wednesday against the D-backs.
Kiner-Falefa grounded into a double play in his first at-bat and then went on to have probably his best offensive day of the season. He also had a three-run double last night, so he has five RBI in two games after collecting a total of eight his first 43 games. It’s the first time he’s scored three runs in a game since the Pirates acquired him last summer and eighth time overall.
Pirates activated SS Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the 10-day injured list.
Kiner-Falefa is back at shortstop and batting sixth on Monday against the Mets following a minimum stint on the injured list with a right hamstring strain. The versatile 30-year-old is hitting .280/.333/.330 with 11 runs scored, zero homers, seven RBI and six steals through 30 games.

The speedy infielder is expected to start running the bases by this weekend and then should progress to batting practice. He could begin a rehab assignment by the middle of May.
