Sheets passed all concussion-related tests after a terrifying-looking collision with the center-field wall over the weekend. The 29-year-old slugger is back at DH and batting fifth on Tuesday night following a one-game absence.

Sheets told reporters he passed concussion-related tests and expects to avoid a trip to the injured list, adding that he’s available off the bench on Monday evening. The 29-year-old slugger appears to have avoided serious injury following a scary-looking incident on Sunday when he collided full-speed with the left-field wall. He’ll get some extra time off to rest and recover, but it seems like he’ll be ready to return for Tuesday’s showdown.

Sheets crashed into the outfield wall while attempting to make a play on Adam Frazier’s home run ball in the fourth inning. Shildt noted that Sheets is currently dealing with a head contusion, sore hip and a jammed thumb/wrist and is still being evaluated. It seems likely that he’ll need to pass through the concussion protocol before returning to action, so that should be the injury that is monitored the closest. Fantasy managers who are relying on Sheets for the start of next week should be sure to have a contingency plan in place.
