2025 Player Outlook

Robert missed a good chunk of time with a hip flexor strain early in the year, and he played in just 100 games. Believe it or not, it's only the second time in his career he reached triple digits for games played. Robert has some of the best tools in the game, and his 2023 season was phenomenal from a fantasy perspective. I believe his batting average rebounds a bit in 2024, and if he can get to 400 plate appearances, he's going 20/20. However, his supporting cast stinks, so the counting stats will suffer, but at least a trip or two to the IL is already baked in his price.

Robert put the White Sox on the board in the second inning with a double to drive in a run. He then took Lance McCullers Jr. deep for a solo homer to lead off the fourth. It was the first home run since May 2 for Robert. The 27-year-old outfielder is up to six while hitting .184/.269/.304 with 25 runs scored, and 21 steals across 237 plate appearances.

It seems like the mental reset worked for Robert, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI on Friday night in his return to the lineup after a three-game break to make adjustments. The 27-year-old possesses the raw talent necessary to be one of the most impact all-around contributors in the fantasy landscape, but he’s struggled to stay healthy and put it all together on a consistent basis. The fact that he provided a spark in his return to the lineup is an extremely encouraging development.

Luis Robert Jr went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a walk in a 7-2 win over the Royals on Friday.

While the White Sox are certainly not playing well, they’re at least starting to have some fun again. Robert Jr. pushed them ahead in this tightly contested, well played game against the Royals with his two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning. That hit started a five-run onslaught in front of one of the liveliest home crowds they’ve had in quite some time. And why shouldn’t they be? Star prospect Kyle Teel made his debut in this game and the home faithful just got news that much maligned owner Jerry Reinsdorf is beginning to work on his exit strategy. For Robert Jr., he’s desperately waiting to get going and has shown few signs of life with his .567 OPS despite his 21 stolen bases being one off the league-lead.

Luis Robert Jr. returned to the White Sox’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Royals.

The 27-year-old outfielder was given the previous three days off to clear his head while being mired in a prolonged slump at the plate. On the season, he’s slashing a woeful .177/.266/.286 with five homers, 20 RBI, 21 stolen bases and a 68/24 K/BB ratio over 221 plate appearances. He’ll start in center field and bat seventh against Royals’ right-hander Seth Lugo.
