2025 Player Outlook
Contreras is one of, if not the best offensive talents behind the dish heading into 2025. After hitting 23 home runs and hitting .381 last season, he has an even higher ceiling in 2025. Ideally, his ground ball rate isn’t in the mid-50s like it’s been the last three seasons, because he makes a ton of hard contact (10 percent barrel rate, 49.0% hard hit rate), and he has great feel of the strike zone. There’re not many catchers that will play 150+ games in a season, and that alone increases his fantasy value. He should be the first catcher off the board by a comfortable margin in fantasy baseball drafts this season, as he’s set to hit 23-28 home runs with a .270+ batting average.

William Contreras drove in a pair of runs in a win over the Cardinals on Friday.
William Contreras is not in the lineup for the Brewers on Wednesday against the Reds.
It’s a routine day off for Contereras with a day game after a night game. Eric Haase will start behind the dish and bat eighth.
William Contreras finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, a walk and a steal Monday in the Brewers’ 5-4 victory over the Orioles.
Contreras seems to have overcome the fractured finger that appeared to be limiting his production. All four of his balls in play tonight were hit at least 100 mph. He has nine hits, including four doubles, in the Brewers’ last five games, pushing his OPS back up to .741.
William Contreras went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk and four runs scored versus the Guardians on Wednesday.
It’s the first time in his career that he’s scored four runs. Contreras’s exit velocity numbers have been off as he plays through a fractured finger, but he had three hard-hit balls today and all of them found grass. He came into the day with a .128/.209/.205 line this month.
