Jeff McNeil hit a three-run homer to help the Mets to a 4-3 win over the Nationals on Thursday
Jeff McNeil homered twice, doubled and knocked in four runs Sunday in the Mets’ 13-5 takedown of the Rockies.
McNeil has hit three of his six homers the last two days. His exit velocity numbers aren’t any better than usual this year, but he’s pulling the ball more frequently and also striking out less than ever. It’s led to an excellent .257/.355/.533 line so far. That .276 isolated slugging percentage is more than twice as high as his .125 mark over the previous three years. Alas, while things are definitely looking up here, McNeil unfortunately does not have any games remaining against the Rockies.
Jeff McNeil singled, walked twice, drove in a run and scored a run as the Mets fell to the Yankees on Sunday evening in New York.
McNeil got the Mets on the board with a game-tying RBI single off of Max Fried with two outs in the second inning. He then led off the fifth inning with a walk, was sacrificed to second, advanced to third on a ground ball and scampered home on a wild pitch. On the season, the versatile 33-year-old is slashing .245/.367/.469 with a pair of homers and eight RBI in his first 60 plate appearances.
Jeff McNeil homered and tripled Monday in the rout of the Nationals.
