White Sox signed LHP Tyler Anderson to a one-year, $760,000 contract.
Alexander heads to the Windy City ahead of Sunday’s game against the Royals to provide a rebuilding Chicago club with an experienced left-handed swingman option. He ended up on the free agent wire earlier this week shortly after being removed from Milwaukee’s roster. The 30-year-old southpaw has recorded a pedestrian 6.19 ERA across 36 1/3 innings (21 appearances, four starts) this season in the big leagues.
Tyler Alexander elected free agency after being sent outright to Triple-A Nasshville.
Alexander went unclaimed after being designated for assignment, and the 30-year-old will look for a new organization — or possibly return on a minor-league deal to the Brewers — for the remainder of 2025.
Brewers designated LHP Tyler Alexander for assignment.
Alexander has been removed from Milwaukee’s active roster to make room for veteran lefty José Quintana to return from the injured list. The 30-year-old has posted a lackluster 6.19 ERA across 36 1/3 innings (21 appearances, four starts) this season. He also picked up a three-inning save back on April 20.
Tyler Alexander recorded a three-inning save in the Brewers’ 14-1 victory Sunday.
Alexander, last seen six days ago giving up eight runs in a start against the Tigers, struck out five in three scoreless frames against an A’s team that barely showed up today. He has a 3.66 ERA in three starts and three relief appearances this season.
