2025 Player Outlook
Aside from not running much in 2022, India has been a consistent offensive option at the big-league level. He's hit double-digit home runs with double-digit stolen bases in three of his four seasons at the MLB level, and his average has been within .244-.249 in each of the last three seasons. He has a great feel for the strike zone, and his career walk rate of 10.5 percent makes him a logical fit atop the Kansas City order. The Royals will let him run, and as long as he stays healthy, India has a great chance to set a new career high in stolen bases and hitting in front of the likes of Bobby Witt Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino, and Salvador Perez is good for those counting stats. He'll do a little bit of everything across the board, and he feels slightly undervalued at his current ADP.

India suffered a shoulder subluxation while diving for a ball during Friday’s game and was held out of the starting lineup on Saturday as a precautionary measure. It sounds like he was able to avoid significant injury though and shouldn’t require an extended absence.

India was removed from Friday night’s ballgame due to a shoulder injury that he suffered while diving for a ball behind second base. There have not been any updates yet regarding his status or how long he’ll be sidelined for. Nick Loftin will start in his place at second base on Saturday and could be in line for increased action if India requires an extended absence.
Jonathan India was pulled from Friday night’s contest against the Athletics due to a shoulder injury.
India sustained the injury while diving for a ball behind second base. He remained in the game initially to finish the inning but was subsequently replaced the next time the Royals took the field. Expect him to undergo additional testing to find out exactly what’s going on there. The Royals should have an update on his status before Saturday’s battle against the A’s.
Jonathan India went 1-for-4 and belted a solo home run as the Royals were demolished by the Yankees in Kansas City.
India’s solo shot in the sixth inning — a 415-foot (104.6 mph EV) sol shot off of Max Fried — merely put a Band Aid on a stab wound, trimming the Royals’ deficit to eight runs at 10-2. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening, though he also drew a walk in the ninth inning. Things haven’t gone well in India’s first season with the Royals, slashing a disappointing .248/.332/.335 with just three homers, 18 RBI and zero stolen bases (in three attempts).
