Kris Bubic gave up five runs while working 4 1/3 innings in Wednesday’s loss to the Yankees.
Kris Bubic was terrific in a tough-luck loss against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of one-run baseball.
The 27-year-old southpaw scattered just four hits on the day while issuing a pair of free passes. The only damage done against him — and the lone tally for either team — came as Zach McKinstry smacked a leadoff triple in the third inning and scampered home on a wild pitch. Bubic generated 18 whiffs on 99 pitches in the ballgame, six each on his fastball and changeup, while posting a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll carry a brilliant 1.43 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and a 79/22 K/BB ratio (75 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s juicy matchup against the White Sox in Chicago.
Kris Bubic allowed one run in seven innings and got a no-decision in the Royals’ 2-1 victory over the Twins in 10 innings on Sunday.
Kris Bubic blanked the Giants over seven innings with five strikeouts to get a win Monday for the Royals.
What a season it’s been for Bubic. The 27-year-old allowed just two hits while he was in the game, and while he did walk three, there was never a time that it didn’t feel like the southpaw was in control. That’s the sixth time this year that he hasn’t allowed an earned run, and it’s led to a fantastic 1.47 ERA. There’s no way Bubic can keep this up, but he doesn’t have to in order for him to be a strong fantasy option. He’ll look to keep this going Sunday against the Twins.
