Aaron Ashby recorded his third career save with by throwing three scoreless innings in the 6-0 shutout of the Brewers on Thursday.
Jacob Misiorowski and Nick Mears combined for six no-hit innings, only for Ashby to give up singles to the first three batters he faced in the seventh. Fortunately, the Cardinals made an out on the bases after the first hit, and no runs ended up scoring in the frame. Ashby then faced the minimum in the eighth and ninth. He’s yet to allow a run in nine innings over five relief appearances.
Brewers activated LHP Aaron Ashby off the 15-day injured list.
Ashby will get a chance to make his season debut after missing the start of 2025 with a right oblique strain. The southpaw will likely be a multi-inning relief option for the Brew Crew, but it’s not out of the question that he could make starts for Milwaukee by the end of 2025.
Aaron Ashby (oblique) will make a minor league rehab appearance on Saturday for Triple-A Nashville.
Ashby is expected to return in a relief role for Milwaukee after getting a handful of appearances under his belt at the Triple-A level. The 26-year-old lefty is working his way back from a right oblique strain that he suffered back in spring training. He should be an option for the Brewers before the end of the month.
Aaron Ashby (oblique) allowed three runs over 1 1/3 innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Ashby is several weeks away from being a potential option for Milwaukee’s pitching mix, but he’s kicked off a rehab assignment out in Arizona. He’ll likely need a couple additional tune-up outings in the upper minors but could make it back to the Brewers’ rotation by early June.
