2025 Player Outlook

Injuries limited to Lodolo to just 115.1 IP (21 GS) last season, and he posted a 4.76 ERA (3.95 FIP) and 1.20 WHIP. It was hard for Lodolo to establish a rhythm, but his 106 Stuff+ and 3.30 K/BB ratio was solid, and he had a six-start stretch from the end of May through June where he posted a 2.57 ERA with a 5-1 record across six starts. He does a good job of keeping the ball in the park, and the biggest issue with Lodolo in 2025 is durability. If he's healthy, he's got a rotation spot with Cincy, and he can be a very intriguing arm for fantasy. He can help your ratios, as he doesn't really walk guys, while posting over one strikeout per inning. Of course, he's a risky target, as injuries have been present for him in his young career, and last year's 21 starts and 115.1 IP were both career highs.

Carlos Santana’s third-inning grand slam did most of the damage. Lodolo struck out six and allowed just two hard-hit balls besides the slam. It’s his shortest outing of the year and just the third time he’s allowed more than three runs. He’ll likely fare better next week against the Twins.

TJ Friedl and Christian Encarnacion-Strand have homered for Cincinnati. Nick Lodolo was at 86 pitches through six innings, and it seems unlikely, though not impossible, that he would have come back out for the seventh. He’ll definitely get a no-decision now after play resumes Saturday at 2:10 p.m. EDT. Still, the suspension might work out for the Reds; Elly De La Cruz is expected to rejoin the team Saturday and could be inserted right into the game. Lodolo is slated to make his next start Wednesday in Cleveland.

The wind was blowing in at Wrigley today, but Lodolo really didn’t need it while allowing just three hard-hit balls on the day. He struck out five and lowered his ERA to 3.10. Next up for him is a start Friday against the Diamondbacks.

He also struck out six and walked two on the day while registering a 20 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. Lodolo’s secondaries carried him on a day when he got just one whiff on his four-seam fastball despite throwing 1.1 mph harder than he has all season. Lodolo will now carry a 3.39 ERA into a start in Wrigley Field against the Cubs next week.
