The 32-year-old slugger has done nothing but mash the baseball since his recent demotion, slashing a Herculean .500/.512/1.071 with seven homers, 13 RBI and a 3/1 K/BB ratio in 43 plate appearances over nine games at Triple-A Las Vegas. We’ll see if he can carry over those results with the big league club and become a viable mixed league fantasy option once again.

The Athletics made a flurry of roster moves on Friday with an eye toward adding youth and offensive potential to the roster and Brown wound up being one of the casualties. The 32-year-old was slashing an abysmal .192/.311/.288 with one home run, three RBI and a 17/7 K/BB ratio over his first 61 plate appearances. He’s someone that could attract some interest on waivers.

It was noticeable to see Brown sitting against a right-hander on Opening Day in favor of Miguel Andujar, but the 32-year-old slugger is in there as the left fielder against righty Luis Castillo on Friday. He’ll bat sixth, sandwiched between Tyler Soderstrom and Gio Urshela.
