Over the last four races, the driver of the No. 9 has earned a series-high 197 points, over 50 points more than the nearest driver. In addition to leading the regular season standings, Elliott has the most playoff points with 25, thanks to his five stage wins and series-leading four victories. Heâ??s also accumulated eight top-five finishes and a series-best 15 top-10s. The Hendrick Motorsports driver has led 658 laps in 2022, another series-high as well as a career-best mark for the 26-year-old through 22 events. Last season, Elliott lined up second at Michigan International Speedway and won the first stage of the 200-lap race. He followed that up with a fourth-place run in the second stage before ultimately taking the checkered flag in eighth place. In all, he paced the field for 68 laps on the day, extending his laps led total to 144 at the track.

He started 8th in the lineup and completed all laps of the 86 run. He continues as the points leader in the NCS point standings, leading Ryan Blaney, who finished 26th in the Verizon 200, by 125 points after the event.

The driver of the No. 9 is one of only three Cup Series drivers to finish inside the top 10 in all three road course races this season – Chastain and Austin Cindric are the others. Elliott has garnered fourth, eighth and second-place efforts at Circuit of The Americas, Sonoma Raceway and Road America, respectively. He has earned the third-most points on serpentine tracks in 2022 with 104, trailing only Ryan Blaney (115) and Chastain (106). Elliott has proven his road-racing prowess, leading all active drivers with seven wins on road courses. He’s also third on the all-time list with road course victories, trailing only NASCAR Hall of Famers Jeff Gordon (nine) and Tony Stewart (eight).

It is his first win and 8th top-10 finish in 14 races at Pocono Raceway. Tyler Reddick (2nd) posted his 2nd top-10 finish in six Pocono races and his 8th top-10 finish in 2022. Daniel Suarez (3rd) posted his 4th top-10 finish in 12 races at Pocono. Harrison Burton (23rd) was the highest finishing rookie. This is Chevrolet's 34th NASCAR Cup Series victory at Pocono Raceway.
