Robert Williams underwent an arthroscopic procedure to address inflammation in his left knee and will be miss four-to-six weeks.
Williams will be out until late April at the earliest, which means that he will not return for the regular season. Portland is currently two games out of the Play-In Tournament and has won three in a row. Robert Williams (knee) and Jabari Walker (concussion) are out for Wednesday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Williams and Walker remain out for another game. Their absences will ensure Duop Reath’s rotation minutes as the backup center. There isn’t much to gain from streaming Reath, with Donovan Clingan surpassing 30 minutes as the starting center.
Robert Williams (knee) and Jabari Walker (concussion) are out for Monday’s game against the Wizards.
Williams and Walker remain sidelined for another game, leaving the Trail Blazers light on options in the frontcourt. Robert Williams (knee) did not play in Wednesday’s loss to the Knicks.
While the Time Lord was made available for Wednesday’s game after a 10-game absence, he did not see any action. Duop Reath (six points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal, three blocks and two three-pointers in 19 minutes) handled the backup center responsibilities behind Donovan Clingan. Jabari Walker’s upcoming concussion tests will also impact the available minutes for future games, but Williams offers limited upside due to the injury concerns.
