Tartt started 14 games for the 49ers last year, totaling one pass defense and five TFLs. He has 80 career starts to his name. His inability to make the Eagles roster comes as something of a surprise. Tartt should find another home as secondary depth for 2022. 

Tartt has plenty of experience in coverage, which makes him a solid fit for the Eagles' defensive scheme. Marcus Epps was slotted in as Philadelphia's starting free safety before this move. It could mean the end of Tartt's 49ers career, as his contract is up at season's end. He turns 29 in February. He has been with the club since 2015. Tartt's Week 10 replacement, Marcell Harris, struggled mightily in his absence against the Packers, immediately surrendering a monster touchdown to Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The 49ers have suffered a truly biblical amount of injuries on defense.
