Cardinals released OL Dennis Daley.
This news comes from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Daley was a sixth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2019 and has 37 career starts to his name. He appeared in just three games for the Cardinals last season while making one start and started 15 of the 17 games he appeared in for the Titans in 2022. Daley has experience at tackle and along the interior. The 28-year-old vet should catch on with another team, even if it’s just for a depth role.
Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon said OL Dennis Daley (ankle) will not play in Week 1 against the Commanders.
Daley is listed as the second-string guard on the Cardinals’ depth chart, making this injury more impactful on the team’s overall depth. Daley reportedly suffered his injury in the Cardinals’ final preseason game against the Vikings, but he doesn’t look like a candidate for injured reserve at this time.
Cardinals signed T Dennis Daley to a two-year contract.
New Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort previously served in Tennessee's front office, where Daley played for the 2022 season - making 15 starts. The problem is that Daley graded out as the 78th-ranked tackle, per Pro Football Focus, of 81 qualifying tackles during those 15 starts last season. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray could be forced out of the pocket at a higher frequency than in season's past.
Titans acquired OL Dennis Daley and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Panthers in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick.
Drafted by the Panthers in 2019, Daley has taken snaps at every offensive line position but center since joining the league. The bulk of his snaps have come at tackle. He has started 18 games for Carolina including nine in 2021. Pro Football Focus has generally graded Daley as a middling run-blocker and a poor pass-blocker. Daley was unlikely to crack the Panthers' final roster, making this a savvy deal from GM Scott Fitterer.
