Anthony Duclair had successful surgery to repair his Achilles tendon and will miss at least half of the 2022-23 season.
Duclair suffered the injury while doing off-season training. The talented Duclair had a career year in 2021-22 with 31 goals and 58 points in 74 games and at age 26 was looking forward to another great season. It is a hole the Panthers will have to plug as they head into the 2022-23 season.
According to reports, Anthony Duclair has injured his Achilles tendon during offseason training.
TSN's Pierre LeBrun and Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman both reported the ailment, which is expected to sideline the Panthers forward for an extended period of time. According to Friedman, Duclair met with doctors this week to discuss the possibility of surgery. Duclair posted career-highs in 2021-22 with 31 goals and 58 points in 74 games.
Anthony Duclair is poised to be a healthy scratch in Game 4 on Monday.
Duclair has a goal and three points in eight playoff games this year. That's a clear step down from the regular season where he scored 31 goals and 58 points in 74 contests.
Anthony Duclair scored the Panthers' lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay in Game 1 on Tuesday.
Duclair netted the first goal of the game, but the Panthers couldn't build off that. It was Duclair's first goal and third point in six playoff contests. Jonathan Huberdeau and Brandon Montour each registered an assist on Duclair's goal.
