Aho was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. He had two goals and 12 points in 36 contests in 2021-22. 

Aho logged 17:34 of ice time in Thursday's win over Washington. He will finish the 2021-22 season with 12 points, 34 shots, 42 blocks and 32 hits in 36 appearances.  

Aho entered Tuesday's game with just three career goals (one in each of his NHL season), but broke trend and recorded his second goal of the campaign when he brought home the bacon against Sergei Bobrovsky about five minutes into the second period. Don't hold your breath for a third goal out of Aho this season. 

Aho opened the scoring at the 8:39 mark of the first period. What made the goal interesting was that Carolina's Sebastian Aho scored against Montreal at nearly the exact time. They scored 34 seconds apart. The two of them are unrelated and are from different countries even though they share the same name.
