Svechnikov snapped a five-game point drought. He has four goals and five points in 12 playoff games this year.

With the 'Canes needing a goal to start the third, Svechnikov found the top shelf with a beautiful snipe. Unfortunately, things unraveled from there for Carolina as they could only muster up a late goal from Svechnikov off a powerful one-timer. Svechnikov came into tonight's contest pointless in his last three games but his big night in the box score wasn't enough. This series is now going to seven games with the do-or-die matchup set for Saturday.

The Hurricanes are up 1-0 in the best-of-seven series against the Boston Bruins. Svechnikov had 30 goals and 69 points this season as he is one of the rising stars in the NHL at the tender age of 22.

Svechnikov missed Carolina's regular-season finale due to illness and he didn't skate on Saturday. He returned to the ice on Sunday, though, and he will be available for the team's playoff opener. Svechnikov is projected to play alongside Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis on the top line.
