We have a two-game League of Legends DFS slate spanning Friday and Saturday morning on DraftKings with the Mid-Season Invitational semifinal matches taking place on May 27th and 28th at 4:00 AM ET on both days. There are no more “next round” excuses left for these four League of Legends teams. Dropping games at this stage of the tournament results in going home and not hoisting the MSI trophy. As you build LoL DFS lineups, consider what's at stake for the remaining squads. Only the best teams in the tournament are left and we have been given two compelling series, each with its own storylines. Will RNG be able to defend its title? Will the top-ranked T1 Esports handle the expectations of Korean fans? Has G2 been “figured out” and quickly get run out of the series? Can the young team from the LCS put up any fight against the LPL powerhouse? There's plenty to break down and eSports players to review before you build those League of Legends daily fantasy lineups – so let’s dive in!

DFS Fantasy Value Breakdown

Series #1: Royal Never Give Up v Evil Geniuses

Game Breakdown: Of the two series, this one is by far the most one-sided on paper. RNG has dropped fewer games in this tournament than EG has dropped in both the first and second round robins, individually counted of course. RNG’s strength comes from their ability to win through Gala consistently in the late game. We have seen their top laner (bin) and jungler (Wei) both struggle to put pressure on their lane opponents at time, but we see Xiaohu push the LPL Champions through the early game. Once they get to late game teamfights, most games are over. EG will really struggle against this type of approach. The North American team has not been able to draft or execute gameplans that help them win in the early game and against RNG, you have to dominate the early game. I don’t like picking a series to go 3-0 because most underdogs can have odd enough picks/drafts that they steal a win but this should not be a competitive series.

Favorite Picks: Gala (RNG: $11,700/$7,800), Xiaohu (RNG: $11,400/$7,600), Ming (RNG: $5,800), Royal Never Give Up ($5,400)

Value Picks: Impact (EG: $5,600), Danny (EG: $6,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: Royal Never Give Up (3-1)

Series #2: T1 Esports v G2 Esports

Game Breakdown: This will be one of the best series we have seen in pro League of Legends this year. Both of these teams have had very emotional tournaments with high points and low points. G2 Esports had 12 consecutive wins to open the tournament, showing a level of dominance that Europe hasn’t tasted for years. Unfortunately, they fell straight on their face and ended the group only going 2-0 against Evil Geniuses. T1 has continued their same approach to the game throughout the tournament, and it has both gone poorly and very well for them. They have tried to “skill-check” teams and we saw G2 match that challenge. T1 will always force teams to fight them on their terms but G2 has shown us that one of their strongest traits is the ability to win bad fights. They can peel away from fights and reengage when they find advantages. The key here will be BrokenBlade playing at a higher level than he has been in the last week. Zeus (T1 top laner) has been an unstoppable force and a problem for teams. If BrokenBlade, with the help of Jankos and Caps, can prevent him from being a split push threat G2 can win this series.

Favorite Picks: Zeus (T1: $6,200), Gumayusi (T1: $7,400), Faker (T1: $7,200)

Value Picks: Caps (G2: $7,000), Jankos (G2: $6,400), Flakked (G2: $10,500/$7,000), G2 Esports ($4,600)

Cann’s Match Pick: G2 Esports (3-2)
