NBA DFS Playbook - April 2

Young is listed as questionable going into Saturday’s tilt with Brooklyn but if he plays, he’s elite. He put up 46.5 DKP in just 28 minutes last game, a game he left and returned in. He put up 59 DKP and 41 actual points the game before in a game he played just 29 minutes in. He’s averaging 34.5 minutes/game this year, so give Young those extra five minutes here and he could get 60 DKP.

Why is Poole’s price $1K cheaper than it was last slate? A slate he scored 38 actual points and 64 DKP in? AGAINST PHOENIX! How. How. How. I mean, there’s no Steph Curry here and Poole continues to dominate. He’s scored 20+ points in 14 straight games.

The Bulls are not great defensively and can be exploited as Lowry steps into a good spot. Chicago is 20th in DRtg over the last 15 games. Lowry had 23 points and 37.5 DKP last game and has put up 27+ DKP in six of seven games. Lowry has dominated the Bulls this season averaging 43 DKP/game across two meetings.

Caruso hasn’t flashed the highest ceiling, but the minutes have been very steady. He had 21.75 DKP last game and didn’t have any steals, despite averaging two per game on the year, just as an example of what could’ve been if he reached that average last time out. He put up 35 DKP in a game recently and that’s within the cards. He’s averaging 27 DKP/game vs. MIA this year.

The Warriors have been a mediocre defense lately and Mitchell could exploit that fact. He’s put up 26+ points in eight of his last nine games and has been super consistent putting up 40+ in nine of 11. He’s averaged 44 DKP/game against the Warriors this year. Mitchell has a 33.4% USG and averages 1.27 FP/min.

It’s a very tough spot to be in against Miami, but LaVine’s price has not been this low all season long. The LOWEST price of the year. He hasn’t flashed massive upside lately, but has been over 32+ DKP in six of seven games. He does have 50 FP upside and without Lonzo Ball on the floor this season, he has a 29.2% USG and 1.13 FP/min.

The Jazz have been using Clarkson a lot lately as he’s topped 27 minutes in 11 straight games and has 26+ DKP in four straight and in nine of those 11. Clarkson has a 26.9% USG on the year and if Bojan Bogdanovic is at all limited like he was last game, Clarkson could be extended much like he has lately.

If Strus suits up and starts, he’s hard to ignore. He’s under 4K and has a subpar defensive match-up. Strus has played 30+ minutes in each of the last two games, both games he started. He’s someone who can space the floor really well and if his shot is falling, he has solid upside at this price.

Durant has been amazing lately, notching 52+ DKP in three straight and six of seven. He is playing ALL the minutes he can handle considering his team needs him to be better seeded in the postseason. ATL is 17th in DRtg since the All-Star break, so advantage Durant in every facet of the game.

We have not seen Butler at this price very often, so take advantage of that. Butler has shot horribly against the Bulls (.357 FG%) and yet he’s averaging 38.4 DKP. The Bulls are 20th in DRtg over the last 20 games. Butler has a 26.8% USG and averages 1.2 FP/min on the year.

It’s hard for ATL to take Huerter off the floor right about now. He’s scored 20+ points in four straight games and has 30+ DKP in each. He’s playing big minutes and the team is seeing big production. With John Collins out and Trae Young questionable, Huerter could score 20+ again here.

The Warriors, as they gear up for the postseason, are deploying Porter more and more. He’s played 27+ minutes in two straight games and 25+ in five of seven. Porter has put up 35+ DKP in three of five games. He’s more of a GPP play because he has a sub 20 DKP floor.

If he continues to start, why not at least consider him? He actually played more than De’Andre Hunter. Was that due to a blowout? Likely, but he’s in the rotation right now due to multiple injuries. He’s a GPP play ONLY.

DeRozan has gotten back to MVP form lately, willing the Bulls to two straight wins including 50 actual points a couple of days ago. DeRozan now put up 50+ DKP in three straight games and has 32+ actual points in each. The price is pretty solid for a guy consistently putting up 50+ DKP per game.

Green had his best game since returning from injury against the Suns his last time out, notching 31 minutes and 39 DKP. Without Stephen Curry, a lot of the teams' offense is going to run through Green, more than it already does. We just don’t see Green’s price this low when he’s playing 30+ minutes, so we should take advantage of it while we can.

With Jalen Johnson out now as well as John Collins, Gallinari should be in line for a huge role. The task of guarding Kevin Durant at times could be tough, but he should be up for the task offensively. He’s a GPP play as his box scores indicate. He’s scored 25+ points in two of the last four games, one of them he scored four.

Power forward is the worst position on the board by a wide margin and a lot of people, in my opinion, likely pivot to Williams for value. He’s coming off his best game by a mile and played a LOT while doing so. They’re going to need his defense because that where they’ve struggled the most, so getting this version of Williams is ideal for the Bulls.

With Bruce Brown and Goran Dragic out as well as Seth Curry questionable, could Johnson see extra run? Is it even worth rostering him? We have so few teams on the slate, being different if entering multiple lineups could work out. Johnson, Blake Griffin, and Kessler Edwards could all be options. 

Adebayo has been great in the team's last two games notching back-to-back double-doubles and has 48+ DKP in each game. He’s only averaging 33.3 DKP/game against the Bulls, but that’s not the real Bam.

I know Draymond Green is an elite defender, but Gobert has such a significant size advantage on him here. He’s coming off a monster 25 point, 17 rebound outing against the Lakers and the 52 DKP upside really pops at his price. Nobody ever plays Gobert and people will likely avoid him against Green

Capela might be in his best stretch of the year. He has three double-doubles in four games and the only reason it’s not four is that he only had to play 20 minutes against OKC. He has 40+ DKP in those three double-doubles and Brooklyn has ranked just 19th since the All-Star break.

As Steve Nash has seemingly turned to Drummond more and more, he’s been very good on the fantasy front. He’s put up 28+ DKP in four straight games and in six of seven. He’s notched three double-doubles in four games too.

The minutes are sporadic, but he’s firmly in the Brooklyn rotation and doesn’t need a lot of time to put up a big fantasy number. On the year, Claxton is a .98 FP/min player, so if he can get 20 minutes, 20+ DKP is on the table.
