Quick Pitch MLB DFS Podcast: Elite Pitching, Coors Field & Blue Jays in GPPs

Published: Jun 03, 2022
We have a 12-game MLB DFS slate on Friday, June 3rd. The slates features absolutely no weather concerns, which is a switch up from what it's been lately. It also features Coors Field as the Braves take on the Rockies in the second game of their series. Elite pitchers such as Gerrit Cole, Shane McClanahan, and Corbin Burnes are all looking to secure wins. Offenses like the Toronto Blue Jays, the aforementioned Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies, and the New York Yankees are all lineups we might want to stack in our MLB DFS lineups. For weather updates, be sure to keep tabs on our MLB Weather Center to find out more as we approach roster lock. Another great tool as we get teams posting their lineups is our MLB Lineups page to find out who's in and who's not. Our MLB DFS Player Projections, powered by FanJections, are set for today's slate and on these days, we find using the Fantasy Baseball Lineup Generator to be a great tool to help build different types of roster construction.

Dodgers sent C Chuckie Robinson outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Robinson unsurprisingly cleared waivers after being removed earlier this week from Los Angeles’ 40-man roster. The 30-year-old backstop hasn’t made an appearance in the big leagues this season. He’ll stick around with the Dodgers as emergency catching depth.
Stone Garrett has signed a contract with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Garrett takes his talent overseas a couple weeks after being released by the Nationals. The 29-year-old outfielder played in just two games last season in the big leagues after suffering a significant leg injury during the 2023 campaign.
Sean Manaea (oblique) surrendered four runs over 1 2/3 innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for High-A Brooklyn.
Setting aside the results from a performance standpoint, Manaea built up his workload to 36 pitches (26 strikes) in his rehab debut. He notched two strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. The 33-year-old southpaw figures to make an impact for fantasy managers over the final few months of the year once he makes it back to New York’s rotation. He’ll need a couple of additional tune-up outings, but appears on track to make his season debut by early July.
Blue Jays re-signed C Ali Sánchez to a minor league contract.
Sánchez is back in the fold with Toronto as extra organizational catching depth after electing free agency earlier this week to explore his options. The 28-year-old backstop went 2-for-11 during a brief stint with the club a couple weeks ago while backup Tyler Heineman was hurt.
Parker Meadows is in center field and leading off on Saturday against the Cubs.
Meadows finds himself atop Detroit’s potent lineup for the fifth time in six contests since returning earlier this week from the injured list. The 25-year-old speedster has yet to heat up at the dish, going just 2-for-12 with a pair of extra-base hits and one steal through four games, but he’s walked four times and only struck out three times during that span. He figures to continue leading off for the Tigers, especially against right-handed pitching.
Tigers SS prospect Bryce Rainer will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.
It’s an unfortunate development as Rainer was in the midst of a phenomenal professional debut, slashing .288/.383/.448 with five homers and nine steals across 35 games for Low-A Lakeland. The 19-year-old prodigy, who was the 11th-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, was rapidly cementing his status as top-25 range prospect for dynasty purposes prior to suffering a dislocated right shoulder earlier this week on the strength of his stratospheric underlying 90th percent average exit velocity this season, which checked in at 108 mph, according to MLB Pipeline. He’s expected to be ready for spring training, but the lost development time is
