NBA DFS Playbook - April 5

Young is averaging 58 FP in two games against the Raptors this season and he is averaging 55 FP over the last five games. Both teams are currently in playoff spots but these games due matter in terms of overall standings.  I like Trae as the top spend-up at the position.

Cleveland has things to play for while Orlando doesn't. Garland has been a monster this season and in three games against the Magic this year he is averaging 53 fantasy points. Good value here given the price as Garland had been pretty routinely over $10,000 until lately.

I know the Nets are 17-point favorites but I'm not sure if there is real merit behind that given how they have played of late. The Rockets are being led by Porter and Jalen Green right now with both playing at their ceilings. I think another 40+ fantasy points is in store tonight.

Maledon keeps producing and tonight has the matchup of matchups against the Blazers who could be missing Brandon Williams tonight as well. We've seen 50 and 45 FP out of Maledon in recent games and that ceiling could be here tonight as well.

He comes off the bench and plays 20-to-25 minutes but has 30+ fantasy point upside. This should be a competitive matchup and maybe even a playoff preview.

The  Spurs are without Dejounte Murray tonight which has me wondering how competitive the Spurs will be.  Hyland has a role off the bench and has flashed elite scoring upside. If this one goes sideways he could get the blowout run.

Dunn is already playing 20-to-25 minutes a night but if Williams is ruled out then he should start and see 30+ minutes here against the Thunder.  He is not the greatest offensive player but he does fill the stat sheet.

Should get the nod again with Dejounte Murray ruled out. Has double-double upside and the Nuggets have not been a great defensive team of late.

Memphis is a strong defensive team but Mitchell is still the go-to offensive weapon here. The return of Bojan Bogdanovic takes some of the offensive focus away but I love the under $9,00 price.

Easy matchup to take advantage of and I'd take Ingram over McCollum tonight if I was making the pick. In two games against the Kings this season he is averaging 43 fantasy points.

He is on the cover of the playbook for a reason. Green is showing why he was the second overall pick in this past year's draft. Over the last six games, he is averaging 41 fantasy points and the Nets are not a good defensive team.

Always love me some Herro off the bench, especially with the price tag under $7,000 in a matchup against the Hornets who struggle defensively. 

Price is getting up there but we are getting pretty consistent 5x efforts from DDV who is still looking for his offense but saves fantasy players with his ability to fill the stat sheet.

The Blazers only have so many players that can suit up here and McLemore may be one of the better scorers currently on their roster. With Brandon Williams potentially sittings out tonight the need for McLemore in this game against the Thunder is even greater.

Reports are out that Zach LaVine may not be active tonight against the Bucks which would likely move White into the starting lineup or at the very least result in an increased role in the Bulls rotation. He possesses solid scoring upside at under $4,000.

Durant went for 55 actual in a loss against the Hawks. He can certainly drop 55 against this Rockets squad which has been fun to watch but plays zero defense.

The competitive game here with two teams that may meet in the playoffs. Butler has the ability to pop off and if the Hornets play this one as they should then getting Butler, especially at under $8,000 on FanDuel is a crime.

Exploding right now and maybe the most consistent of the T'Wolves “Big 3”. We like any matchups we can get against the Wizards right now.

Matchup against the Blazers is all you really need to see but then you add in the favorable price tag and his current run of production and he is a core play.

Always a good option when Dejounte Murray is out of the lineup. Vassell is averaging 28 fantasy points over the last four games and he is averaging 22 fantasy points in 20 minutes over three games against the Nuggets this season.

I dunno man. He just keeps on producing and tonight there is no Seth Curry so I see no reason not to run it back given this matchup against Houston even though the Nets are 17-point favorites.

Saw 30 minutes against the Timberwolves the other day and went for 30 actual points. He dropped 20 actual against the Spurs a few games ago as well. If he is going to get an extended run over the final few games then I certainly have interest in this spot against the Nets.

The Blazers are desperate for anybody who can score the basketball and with Brandon Williams now potentially not playing tonight we could see even more shots find Johnson with the pass first Kris Dunn at point guard.

Giannis is currently questionable to play tonight but he would obviously be an elite play here against the Bulls.  He is averaging 60 FP in three games against Chicago this season and he is averaging 63 FP over the past four games with two of those games being 70 FP efforts.

I like the spot here against the Hawks for Siakam who is going to play 40+ minutes tonight and has a scoring range of 40 to 60 fantasy points. In three games against Atlanta this season he is averaging 43 fantasy points. 

Zach LaVine is unlikely to play today which should lock DeRozan into plenty of lineups as he has tremendous scoring upside with LaVine off the floor this season. In three games against the Bucks this season DeRozan is averaging 28.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Johnson has been a monster since the all-star break and over the last five games he is averaging 38 fantasy points. With Dejounte Murray off the floor he is the go-to scoring option for the Spurs and I'd expect to see him take close to 20 shots. 

The Magic are counting down the days til Disney World at this point. Their frontcourt has been exploitable all season and Markkanen is a favorite play at his price tag.

Jokic is averaging 70 fantasy points in three games against the Spurs this season. I'm not quite sure San Antonio has it in them to keep this game close with Murray ruled out but if we get a full run of minutes from Jokic tonight then the upside is as great as anyone on the slate.

This game has almost no shot of staying close but that doesn't mean JoJo can't get 30 and 10 in three quarters here either. Goga Bitdze has been ruled out which leaves the foul happy Isaiah Jackson in as the center. Whatever the scoring prop is for Embiid tonight you should consider the over.

Anthony Davis will play tonight and LeBron James will not. AD went for 60 fantasy points against Denver the other night and he could do the same here against Phoenix and DeAndre Ayton who is not a strong defensive player.

Should be a good offensive battle between Porzingis and Towns as both players are skilled offensively and play little defense. The possible blowout is the real worry here as the Wizards really stink.

Centers against the Hornets are always our play. I like Bam in cash games as he hasn't show that upside as often this year but he has a really safe floor.

Bingo. He is under $8,000 and popped for 60 fantasy points in this same matchup at the end of March. Eubanks is averaging 37 fantasy points over the last six games and the team could be without Brandon Williams tonight.

I'm just not buying into this Nets team and Sengun has been a fantasy points-per-minute monster this season. He went for 40 FP the other night against the T'Wolves in 33 minutes and 42 FP against the Blazers in just 26.

Cheap center play here. As long as he stays out of foul trouble I think we see close to 30 minutes here in a good spot against a bad Magic front court.
