After yesterday’s slate, it’s nice to have a full slate that is cut and dry. All of the games being played today are on the same slate, so it negates much of the confusion. A full 15 game set opens the door wide open for value, and ladies and gentlemen, there’s a good bit of it. From an underpriced right-hander in the National League to an American League veteran on the good side of his splits, there’s a lot to love on today’s slate. It’s Friday, so let’s start the weekend off right and head into the Value Vault!

All Sites

Adrian Houser, SP MIL ($8,400 FD/$7,100 DK/$37 Yahoo) - Houser has been pitching quite well of late. He’s rattled off 15 scoreless innings here to open up September, and he’s allowed just six earned runs over his last 36.2 innings of work, dating back to the end of July. The Milwaukee right-hander has a 2.54 ERA across 63.2 innings at home this season and over the last two weeks, the Cubs have the ninth-highest strikeout rate, and are just slightly above the league average in terms of batting average. Houser is a great value arm today and given his recent run, he’s incredibly underpriced.

Hunter Dozier, 3B/OF KC ($2,500 FD/$2,300 DK/$10 Yahoo) - Seattle’s Chris Flexen has allowed right-handers to hit .302 against him this season and Dozier is starting to come alive a bit. Despite hitting .209 on the season as a whole, he’s hitting .270 in the month of September, and an impressive .350 over his last 20 at-bats. Over the past week, along with that .350 batting average, he has a 1.231 OPS, two home runs, four RBI and five runs scored.

Josh Donaldson, 3B MIN ($14) - Donaldson is 3-for-7 with a home run against Hyun Jin Ryu for his career, and overall against southpaws in 2021, Donaldson has an .839 OPS. The veteran slugger has been better away from his home park, posting an .858 OPS on the road this season and he’s a fine upside play with a lefty on the bump for Toronto.

Eric Hosmer, 1B SDP ($9) - Another BvP play for y’all! Hosmer is 4-for-9 with one home run against Miles Mikolas, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise, as the St. Louis right-hander has struggled with lefties. In 2021, lefties are hitting .308 with a .359 wOBA against Mikkolas and the 33-year-old righty has a 4.26 ERA in four home starts this season. Lastly, he’s allowed three home runs over his last two starts, so don’t be surprised if Hosmer is one of the key cogs in a high-scoring San Diego attack this evening.

Bryan Reynolds, OF PIT ($3,000) - Miami right-handers are going to be popular, but don’t sleep on Bryan Reynolds in this matchup. He’s 3-for-4 with two home runs in his career against Elieser Hernandez, and he’s hit .329 on the road this season. In 15 at-bats against Miami pitching this year, Reynolds has a 1.074 OPS, and he’s hitting .311 with a .533 slugging percentage over the last two weeks.

Bobby Dalbec, 1B BOS ($3,100) - Dalbec has two hits in four career at-bats against Baltimore’s Keegan Akin, but the big thing here is that Akin is a lefty. Dalbec is hitting .280 with an .848 OPS against southpaws in 2021. Dalbec is also rocking a 1.070 OPS over the last two weeks, and he’s homering once every 12 at-bats this season against the Orioles. Lastly, Akin has a .760 ERA on the road in 2021, and Dalbec has an .892 OPS at home.

DraftKings

Bryan De La Cruz, OF MIA ($2,800) - Pittsburgh’s Wil Crowe has a 7.04 ERA in 11 road appearances this season, and regardless of being home or away, right-handed hitters are hitting .313 with a .952 OPS against him. Not only is De La Cruz hitting .264 over his last 22 at-bats with two home runs, but he’s hitting .333 with an .836 OPS against righties this season. Also, at home this year, De La Cruz is sporting a .365 batting average and .409 on-base percentage. Yeah, he’s a great play today for under $3,000 on DraftKings.
