These Sundays are awesome, with baseball and football filling up our television screens for the entire day. No complaints here! The main slate today consists of 12 games, packed with value, and plenty of affordable bats that offer some reasonable upside. Sure, there’s some chalk on the slate, and some popular offenses to stack, but fortunately, in most instances, there’s cheap options in said offenses to get a piece of the pie.

Let’s dive in and take a look at the best value plays for today’s main slate!

All Sites

Eric Lauer, SP MIL ($8,800 FD/$8,200 DK/$40 Yahoo) - I went at this Chicago offense earlier in the week and it didn’t pan out, but here we are again! Over his last 28.1 innings of work (five starts), Lauer has a 2.22 ERA with a 26:8 K/BB ratio in that span. Lauer has a 3.48 ERA at home this year, and he’s allowed two or fewer earned runs in four of his last five home starts. I’m riding with the Milwaukee southpaw against a strikeout-prone Chicago offense.

Kole Calhoun, OF ARI ($2,500 FD/$2,700 DK/$11 Yahoo) - Holy BvP numbers! In his career against Zack Greinke, Kole Calhoun is 12-for-21 with two home runs and a .619 wOBA! Calhoun has a .701 OPS on the road this season, and he has a 1.025 OPS through eight September at-bats. There’s a chance he doesn’t play today, but if he’s in the lineup, the BvP numbers are surely on his side.

Yahoo!

Jonathan India, 2B CIN ($12) - India finds himself in a tough matchup, but he’s hit lefties incredibly well this year, posting a .317 batting average, .373 wOBA and .859 OPS. The emerging star has 20 home runs and 10 stolen bases on the year, and he’s hitting .275 over the past two weeks. Also, he’s hitting .261 at home with a .779 OPS, so if you need a cheap second baseman on Yahoo, I’d throw India in a GPP or two, even against Clayton Kershaw, yes.

Gio Urshela, SS NYY ($9) - Urshela is expected to play shortstop the rest of the way for the Yankees, and he’s in a good spot today. Cleveland’s Eli Morgan has allowed a .279 batting average and .367 wOBA to right-handers this year, while Urshela is hitting .247 against righties in 2021. What I like here is that this game is in Yankee Stadium, and Urshela is hitting .293 at home this year. Urshela is hitting .292 with a .778 OPS over the last week and the Yankee offense should put some runs up on the board today.

FanDuel

Nicky Lopez, 2B/SS KC ($2,800) - I’m confused as to why he’s still this cheap, but hey, less lineup decisions I have to make! Over his last eight games, he’s had at least nine FanDuel points in seven of them, including double-digit points in four of them. Lopez is hitting .387 over the last two weeks with a .424 on-base percentage, and he’s sporting an excellent .481 batting average and .517 on-base percentage against Seattle pitching in 2021.

Jarred Kelenic, OF SEA ($2,800) - Kansas City’s Jackson Kowar has a 1.50 HR/9, 11.50 ERA and 2.17 WHIP thus far in 2021. Ouch. Kelenic’s overall numbers aren’t all that much better, namely his .170 batting average, but there’s plenty of pop in his bat, and the young star does have a 1.048 OPS over his last 20 at-bats, thanks to three home runs. I’ll take Kelenic’s upside here at a sub-$3,000 price tag.

DraftKings

Bobby Dalbec, 1B BOS ($3,300) - Baltimore’s Alexander Wells, a southpaw, can’t get righties out this year, allowing them to hit .369 with a .462 wOBA. Dalbec has a .292 batting average and .892 OPS against southpaws in 2021, and in his home park this year, he has a .923 OPS. The Boston slugger has a .928 OPS against Baltimore pitching this season, and he’s hitting .310 with a 1.205 OPS over the past two weeks.

Andrew Benintendi, OF KC ($3,200) - I love this price point. Back on September 8th, Benenintendi was $3,500 on DraftKings. Starting on that day until now, he’s hitting .548 with a .567 wOBA, .833 slugging percentage. Also, in this ten-game span, he’s hit three home runs, scored six runs, and brought in 19 runners. So, naturally, his price drops by a couple hundred bucks. HUH!? Take the points and run.
